A few more days Friends!!!!

Fall is in the air my friends!!! It is kind of bittersweet... I love it when we get to wear jeans and sweatshirts, roll around in piles of leaves, play football in the cool evenings, and sit around a campfire at night! But summer... I will miss you!!!

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven...

My Lovely Friend

This past weekend, my friend Olivia and I spent time laughing(a lot), telling stories, and taking pictures. We had the best time walking around in the bright sunshine, taking pictures of anything and everything. My favorites though, are the ones that we took of eachother, so here are a few that I want to show you...
Isn't she beautiful?

One of the things I love about this girl is her joy!!! We laugh so hard together! (especially late at night!)
She loves to take pictures, and she is such a great photographer!

Well there are just a few pictures that we took the other day! I hope that you enjoyed looking at them!

Haiti

Well, I am FINALLY, going to tell you about my trip to Haiti this summer!!!! To say the least, it is an experience that i will never forget. Since pictures are worth a thousand words, i will share  a lot of them in this post!!!
This is our team... well almost everyone(some of them aren't in this picture). We all grew so close to eachother throughout the trip! We are like a family- and in fact we are in Christ!!!
While we were down there, we put on a VBS for the children in the area. During our 3 day VBS, we had 200 haitian children come each day.
Although the age range was a little different than in the states... 3 yrs. old- 20 yrs.old, we did most of the same things with the children(and adults). we had crafts, worship, recreation, drama, and a basketball camp! I led a group in crafts, and it was pretty difficult to explain it to the kids! These kids speak a language called Creole, which is a mix between french, spanish, and....?

This is the orphanage in the little village of Shambrun. It houses about 10 children. Currently, they are building a new orphanage on the site of the mission where we served just outside of Shambrun.

One of the things that surprised me about Haiti, was the amount of cell phones! I mean, this is a third-world country, and almost everyone had a cell phone. Their children might be malnourished, and naked, but they still have a cell phone.
We spent most of our time holding the Haitian children...

And the Haitian girls spent most of their time holding my little sister, because they had never spent time with or even seen a little white girl before.

Here are some of the beautiful children I took pictures of...
As a treat, our team got to go to the resort part of Haiti, and enjoy a day a the beach!!!! It was like we had stepped into a different world... we had been in a dry, poverty-stricken area, and then we walked into a lush, green, rich landscape.
All in all, we had an amazing mission trip in Haiti! I know that our team was a blessing to those in Haiti, and I am positive that those Haitian children blessed  me so much more than I blessed them!!! Thanks for reading this, now... "Go into all the world..."

Playing with contrast

Ok, this was a while back, but do you remember when we had that random snow/blizzard/thing towards the end of march? Well I went out and took some pictures! The one thing that I didn't know was that I had the manual setting on, and with the bright snow, the pictures were so bleached. But some of them still turned out okay! This is what a picture looked like when I took it...
...and then I darkened it...
...and then I darkened it some more...
...which one do you like the most? have a great day, and start of your week!

The Florida Rainbow

Okay, so my last post was... well, a long time ago! I was in Florida and then... well... I guess I've been a little lazy:) I thought that I would share a few pictures of Florida! We stayed in Fort Myers Beach, in a house with 25 PEOPLE!!! Yeah, I know, I little crazy, but it was wonderful to be with family and to make some wonderful memories. It rained one or two days, but other than that, the weather was BEAUTIFUL!
This is the house that we stayed in! Yes, I am standing right at the water!

Every day, this tent went up in front of our house. Both my great-grandmother, and my baby cousin were on the trip, so the shade was perfect for them. (Plus for all of us Hoosiers who aren't used to the Florida sun... oh, I don't mean hoosiers as in I.U.-just to clarify)

...the sunsets were beautiful...
...they painted rainbows in the sky... Wow God! You are so amazing! Thanks for the beauty that we get to experience...
...kissed by the sun, and then touched by the breeze...
We made some major sandcastles... I'm sure they would still be standing if it weren't for the "evil tide", and those rude college students that enjoyed stepping on and in them!...The nerve!
Don't let these reeds(I dont know, they could be grass, or something...) deceive you...In between them are about a million little prickly balls that can really cause some pain!

All in all, we had a wonderful trip to Florida! We had some great family time, and were blessed by the beauty of God's creation!

Thanks for reading!

Aren't we having some beautiful weather?!!!:)

Didn't you all enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend? It made me so excited for spring, and it tricked me into getting out all of my summer clothes and flip flops(so mean)! It was sooo warm, and spring-like, and now...okay, that's kind of a sore subject! So, after yesterday's rain, and todays rain, (and probably tomorrow's rain), and not to mention the cold, cold, cold, I ventured out to take some pictures...
This is my dog Annie. Though she might have had some fun earlier...
...She feels miserable now.

I was rejoicing in the melting snow...
...but yes, it is still there,(hopefully not for long).

I was playing basketball in shorts(outside) on Friday...and now there is ice on the basketball goal...
...and on the net...
ice, ice, ice...:(
Well, maybe it will get warmer and prettier...
Soon we will be able to say...
"See! The Winter is past; the rains are over and gone"
~Song of Solomons 2:11

I am trusting that God has the perfect spring in mind for us! Here's a great reminder to wait...
"But if we wait for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently"
~Romans 8:25

So long! Enjoy the weather!

Wow God! You are so amazing! Thanks for the picture!

Blessings to living in the country

Yes, there are some wild and crazy things that occur on a farm, but the beauty, peacefulness, quiet, and yes, the animals too, trumps all of that!
...foggy, peaceful mornings...
...moments where you just have to say, "Wow God"!
Moments where you are almost tempted to say, "I like winter"
...Times where I think, "Now, this is great, if we could just stop the movie right here. I think I would like to be doing this for a while!"
